A fashion event called Indonesian Islamic Fashion Fair (IIFF) ready held August 3, 2010. This event became one of the efforts to make Indonesia as a mecca for the fashion industry Muslim world. Events initiated Indonesia Islamic Fashion Consortium (IIFC) for the first time it is also expected to become a means of meeting local and world designers, producers, and consumers from different directions.
IIFF held for the first time, the plan will last for a whole month until 3 September. as many as 31 Muslim fashion designers will participate enliven these performances, among others, Ida Royani, Shafira, Merry Pramono, Nuniek Mawardi, Dian Pelangi, and Hengky Kawilarang. The number of clothing that will be displayed as many as 450 clothing.
With the largest Muslim population in the world and the richness of culture of various tribes in the archipelago, Indonesia has the potential to be the largest supplier of fashion clothing for the Muslim market. This potential can be utilized for forming the image of ‘the other value of Indonesia. Thus, besides known for its natural resources, Indonesia also has a unique shopping tour supporting the Muslim lifestyle, so that later able to attract foreign tourists, especially from Islamic countries to visit.
Islam, fashion, cultural wealth, no one can beat Indonesia; It can improve the competitiveness of Indonesia’s international trade, and also as alternative solution to the provision of jobs.
To that end, the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs supported IIFC, Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and Ministry of Industry and Trade, has the mission of making Indonesia the Muslim world’s fashion in 2020.
In Indonesia, there are many Muslim fashion designers who produce good works. Unfortunately, little known in foreign countries. IIFF expected to become an arena for local Muslim fashion designers to showcase the results of his creativity. Hopefully with the Indonesian Islamic Fashion Fair event, Indonesia is increasingly known as a trend for Moslem all over the world.
Moslem market share is currently growing. Besides domestic market, has also expanded into neighboring countries such as Brunei Darussalam and Malaysia.
